The Glen Allen, Virginia area offices are committed to ensuring that patients have solutions that fit their needs and help them feel more confident in their appearance. When various issues impact facial skin, including fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and acne scarring, many patients will find laser skin treatments are an excellent, effective way of resurfacing the skin and rejuvenating its appearance.

WHY CHOOSE LASER THERAPY FOR SKIN?

There have been continued advances in all fields of medicine, including the use of lasers in the treatment of various health concerns. This includes the treatment of the skin. Our skin changes with time and is exposed to the elements, which can cause the formation of acne, hyperpigmentation, scarring, and even dull, tired, and dry skin. With laser skin treatments, men and women can rejuvenate their look, exfoliating the upper layer of dead skin cells while at the same time stimulating skin cell turnover and promoting collagen and elastin production with a single treatment.

WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR OUR LASER SERVICES? ARE THEY SKINCLUSIVE?

Our laser is top-of-the-line technology for treating the skin. Even better, the skinclusive technology allows us to treat ALL skin types. Many laser treatments are only safe for lighter skin tones. However, at our office, it is a top priority that we can treat all skin types and tones. We will match you with the right treatment for YOUR skin.

Laser Treatments - Cassie Lane Aesthetics

We have two platforms, two laser platforms, or I should say we have two laser devices. And within those two devices, we house five wavelengths. And a lot of folks might be thinking, well, what is a wavelength? Those are particular ranges of light that can then target certain things. So within those wavelengths that we have, we can target hair. So hair reduction, we can target reds vascular issues, we can target browns, usually from sort of pigment, changes from the sun. We can remove tattoos, we can even reduce the appearance of fine lines and aging. So with laser, it depends on what we’re addressing of how many treatments it will take. But I’ll say oftentimes with reds and browns, we’re talking probably about three treatments. When we’re talking about hair reduction or tattoo removal, we’re talking many treatments, six to eight, and then something more aggressive like a resurfacing treatment, trying to get rid of fine lines.
That could be a one and done maybe a once a year kind of thing. Our platforms, house wavelengths that are safe for all skin type. There are a couple of exceptions for individuals who may be more prone to changes with certain of these treatments, but as a whole, we can use different wavelengths to get at what that patient is hoping to achieve and safely. We have patients come in, again, we ask them what exactly is bothering them. We talk about why that’s shown up, how they can help to avoid it once they receive treatment. What does treatment look like? How many does it take? What’s the aftercare? Are they a good candidate? We say that the best results come with several treatments, but even after one, people come back and are amazed. And the amount of change that even comes with a single treatment.

DO I NEED TO TAKE TIME OFF WORK?

Because certain laser therapies provide deep, aggressive skin treatment, patients may want to take the rest of the day off work or social activities to allow their skin to regenerate. Patients also need to protect their skin by avoiding sunlight and tanning beds for the first few weeks after their initial treatment.

What should I do to prepare for my upcoming laser skin treatment?

We are excited to help you with your upcoming laser skin treatment! Our dedicated team provides personalized guidance on what to do—and what to avoid—based on your specific procedure. As a general tip, we recommend avoiding sun exposure in the 2 weeks leading up to your appointment and using a high-SPF sunscreen to protect your skin. Certain oral medications can make you more sensitive to lasers such as accutane, certain antibiotics and statin medications. We would also like to know about any medications or skincare products you have been using, as you might need to pause those before your treatment. Specifically avoid harsh actives including acids and retinol for 7 days prior to laser treatment. Our goal is to ensure you have a wonderful experience.

How long do results from laser treatments last?

The duration of results from laser treatments can vary depending on several factors, including the specific type of treatment and your circumstances. For example, laser hair removal is not a one-time fix. You’ll typically need a series of sessions to achieve the best and most noticeable results.

How often can I have laser treatments performed?

The frequency of our laser treatments depends on you and the specific treatment you choose. Some treatments may require several sessions spread over weeks or months, while others might only need to be scheduled once every few years. Don’t worry—we’re here to support you every step of the way! Our team will work with you to create a personalized plan that aligns with your needs and goals.
