Our dedicated team is here to guide you in discovering whether this rejuvenating treatment is the right choice. The VI peel is designed to restore your skin’s natural beauty and restore the healthy, youthful glow we all desire. We’ve compiled some frequently asked questions about our office’s VI chemical peel procedure to help you learn more. We’re excited to assist you on your skincare journey!
A VI chemical peel is a medical-grade skin treatment that involves applying a specialized chemical ingredient solution to the skin. This specific solution contains a combination of powerful ingredients like salicylic acid, Vitamin C, and retinol, which work together to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. Your provider will choose the right solution for you and your skin concerns.
During your VI chemical peel, the solution is applied in layers to the face or other areas of the body. As it penetrates into the deeper layers of your skin, it breaks down dead skin cells and stimulates collagen production. This results in smoother, brighter, and more youthful-looking skin.
The VI chemical peel is suited for most skin types and concerns, including patients concerned about aging skin, acne-prone skin, and hyperpigmentation. However, it may not be recommended for those with certain medical conditions or pregnant/breastfeeding women. It is always best to consult with our team to determine if the VI chemical peel is the right treatment for you.
At our office, we aim to offer our clients a comfortable and relaxing experience during their VI chemical peel treatment. The entire process usually takes about 30 minutes. It begins with cleansing the skin, followed by applying the solution. You may experience a mild tingling or burning sensation during the treatment, which is completely normal. Afterward, the peel remains on your skin for 4 hours before cleansing. You will continue the peel process with post-care products and instructions at home.
Most patients do not experience significant downtime after a VI chemical peel. However, you might notice some redness and peeling in the days following the treatment. This is a normal part of the exfoliation process and should subside within a week. The amount of peeling you experience will depend on the solution used and how much exfoliation your skin needs to do. Avoiding direct sun exposure and wearing sunscreen is essential, as your skin will be more sensitive to UV rays during this period.
